The question
How does inpatient length of stay vary across diagnoses, and which patterns deserve a closer look?
The project
This Tableau dashboard explored inpatient utilization and diagnosis-level length-of-stay patterns. The reported analysis identified an average stay of approximately 9.5 days, with higher stays for pneumonia and heart failure.
Average inpatient length of stay in the analyzed dataset.
How to read the finding
The average describes this project's dataset. It is not a hospital performance benchmark, a causal explanation, or an estimate of what a patient's stay should be.
A next iteration could add the median, distribution, case counts, and explicit cohort definitions to give the headline measure more context.
